About Us

Did Tim AppleCook and the board design, build, and sell the iPhone 70 - or did the engineers, workers, and salespersons?

I'm just another person, but with a bit of familiarity with computers, Linux, RSS, and Vim. This combination makes maintaining this website doable, and I wanted to help fill a gap I've noticed. I got the idea to make this site around the time of the Hunt's Point strike this past January. Tbh, I saw AOC was there during Biden's inauguration, and it kinda hit me how important labor was for the left, and how fractured labor reporting was - and also how stupid the discourse was around progressive Democratic politics (ie Dore-types who shit on AOC).

I'm pretty mad that the world is going to absolute s**t when we could fix it. Idk what to do personally, except I noticed lefties online seem to be really splintered and was hoping this site would help. I used to think we should "just let it all burn" but now I think that's a pretty stupid way of approaching things.

In my perfect world, everyone would learn Ethics, Linear Algebra and Vim in High School on Linux-based computers. These computers would all have trackpoint keyboards. We wouldn't teach math for a standardized test, and people would love math as a result. Everyone would eat good food, really good food, and pop music would be abolished (LOL). That's the REAL Plato's Republic.

Seriously though, almost every job should merit the worker a happy and steady life. This isn't just some lefty principles, but also would make America not so f****cking boring if there was work that resulted in something interesting. Like, where the hell do I find a butcher? Or street food? Why are farmer markets so niche? Where are the g*****d**mn night markets? Why is shopping for clothes so dull? I hate it. I wanna be able to hit the night market along with every other night owl in town.

If you have a really good recipe, send it my way.
